Pressing The Pulp: DIY Paper-Making at Home!
-
Pulp It!
Do you have any paper shredding that you’ve been putting off? Put some of these scrap pieces of paper to use in this craft! I used a selection of old syllabi from prior university classes blended with instant coffee to give my final paper a sepia tone— feel free to use an array of leftover coloured paper for a unique look!
-
Press It!
This is the stage where we have to dab our sheets dry! While the sun & the power of time will both play a role in drying out your sheet into a workable surface, you have to help them out with your sponges!
-
Print/Paint It!
Now, it is time for the final stage in the creative process! I experimented with a few forms of decoration on my finished sheets of DIY paper! If you have a collection of stamps, a calligraphy pen, or a penchant for painting… this is the moment to leave your mark on your finished paper in any way that you’d like!
